Velvet R is a confident and very sensible individual with outstanding paces. Even under pressure he does not panic and is unusually rational. This aspect of Red Velvet R is remarkable and of great interest from a training point of view. Red Velvet R’s father Regardez Moi would easily be the most winning dressage stallion ever in Australian history. At 18 years of age Regardez Moi is still wining international competitions and is now competing against his own progeny in the Grand Prix arena! Red Velvet R is out of Josie R who in turn is by Jive Magic. Jive Magic, being one of Australia’s most exciting Grand Prix stallions. Interestingly, Josie R carries the Ilkay blood, which was little used here in Australia but from limited opportunity did produce some fantastic youngsters. More importantly Illkay is a proven sire of Grand Prix horses such as Glenquary ridden by Camilla Palmer and Absolute Indulgence ridden by Sally Mcpherson. Red Velvet R has a full brother, Royal Jive R, who is winning dressage tests with scores over 70%. Red Velvet R will make a wonderful competition partner for a rider seeking movement, trainability and temperament with an impressive collection of performance bloodlines.
